100% trust in your company staff is a privilege reserved for solopreneurs. Otherwise, you need to view your employees – and anyone who enjoys some level of trust when it comes to your company assets and internal network – as a potential source of risk. This can include partners, vendors, suppliers or contractors.

Malicious insiders who intentionally try to damage your company out of greed or spite are, fortunately, few and far between. A much more common threat is insiders who inadvertently put your company’s data at risk through ignorance, arrogance or negligence.
